Rectangular, with convex sides, enameled overall in purple over a dotted and moiré guilloché ground, all within white champlevé enamel bands, the hinged cover with a rose-cut diamond-set rim and a cabochon ruby thumb-piece, engraved 'Fabergé' in Cyrillic on the rim and marked inside cover and base with workmaster's initials
