The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The painting is executed on paper laid down on board and is stable on its support. There are artist tack holes at the upper corners, and the upper and lower edges at center. The paint layer is stable and under a clear varnish that has slightly yellowed with age. There is minor frame abrasion and scattered tiny pigment losses. The impasto is well retained. Inspected under ultraviolet light. No apparent inpainting. The work should be hung in its present state. Please note that Christie's does not guarantee the condition of frames.
