The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Pile ranges from 1/4 in. to low to knot heads and spot foundation. Pile generally better in borders. Upper left area of field with an area of lowest pile where some loose foundation is visible and is with restorations. A 30 in. by 3 in. re-weave into left side border and field. A repaired uneven slit of similar size into left side and border, some smaller re-stitched slits nearby. Left and right sides of field with a cut and re-joined area resulting in some small losses to leaf tips; mostly visible on reverse. Areas were possibly cut and re-joined to make the carpet lie flat as it does not appear to be reduced in size. Scattered fold-wear throughout, some re-piled. Scattered further re-piling throughout, some with old moth-damage areas. Some scattered re-stitched holes and reweaves. Scattered spot stains and surface dirt; recommend cleaning. Sides with original one-chord wool selvedges. Ends mostly complete but fraying in areas. Sides and lower end with bands sewn on reverse, now with losses and tears. Reverse with tape numbered '107...' Flexible handle, sound fabric.
