This pair of mirrors formerly belonged to the famous American socialite and fashion icon Countess Mona von Bismarck (1897-1983). Her five husbands included Harrison Williams, then said to be the richest man in America, and Count Albrecht Eduard von Bismarck-Schönhausen, a grandson of German Chancellor Otto von Bismarck. Throughout her life she had residences in Paris, Capri, New York, and Palm Beach, among others, which housed her world-class collection of art and objets.
