The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Each bench with scattered nicks, chips, and scuffs throughout, commensurate with age and use. Small losses to the white painted surface decoration and remnants of an earlier gilded scheme show through underneath in some areas. Very well carved, and of unusual serpentine shape. Fully finished in the round suggesting they were originally commissioned for a particular placement in a great house. The upholstery with tears and fading, one bench is significantly more faded than the other. Overall the benches are structurally sound and sturdy.
