Condition report
A Christie's specialist may contact you to discuss this lot or to notify you if the condition changes prior to the sale.
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
These handsome window benches have a clean, complete, and well-maintained appearance. They are structurally sound and ready to use. These have been previously re-gilt, and exhibit the expected small chips and losses to gilt surfaces revealing gesso, bole and bare wood in areas as to be expected with age; but this is particularly concentrated around the feet and can be re-touched as desired. One bench has a small replaced section to one side of the rail. The upholstery is in good appearance with very minimal wear and light marks. Ready to to use.
