The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The marble tops with some chips, abrasions and 'nibbling' to edges; no apparent breaks. Each case with age and construction cracks as expected. The brass inlay with lifting, replacements, dents, oxidation and losses. Ormolu mounts with rubbing, oxidation, surface dirt and verdigris (particularly to the apron masks and the feet mount) as visible in illustration.
Cabinet A: Reinforced to the back leg, the feet mounts are later, the apron mounts are later, the rosettes on the pilasters are later, the Arabesque capital mounts are later, the door mounts apparently original. Scattered woodworm.
Cabinet B: Largely reconstructed with the feet, the backs and the undersides replaced. Some horizontal cuts to the pilaster reserves and are signs of possible restoration and/or reconstruction.
