The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The vases -- generally good condition; light wear to the gilding and light surface wear; some scattered chips; the vases pinned to the stands, but slightly loose with some wear to top of the stands where they rub, both with some small scattered firing cracks in the making; Amphitrite with one small chip to the back left top edge of the stand; Neptune with the fingers of his proper left hand restored, a small firing crack to his left side with an associated loss, a restored approximate 2 in. crack at the back left of the vase's base, a firing crack extending into a hairline to the base at the back left, visible to the interior of the base; present well.
The clock -- light wear to gilding and surface wear; a few small firing cracks in the making; the clock's face with some chips to the enamel surrounding the key holes near seven o'clock and with an approximate 2 in. hairline spanning from five o'clock to three o'clock; the figure group modeled separately from the clock and does not sit flush (likely not original); the man's proper right hand and top of his lute restored; a flaw to the man's back and a small divit-like flaw to the female figure's back in the making and a firing crack to the back of her dress where her sash hangs; the female figure's head has been off and restored with some minor associated losses; presents well; Christie's does not guarantee the working order of clocks.
