The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Not examined out of frame. Canvas with a wax lining. Minor frame abrasion to the extreme edges. Minor surface soiling. A few scattered lines of craquelure and small pinpoint pigment losses. Varnish uneven in places, including to the man at lower left. Examined under ultraviolet light. Scattered short strokes of inpainting.
