The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Overall with scuffs, marks, surface scratching and wear consistent with age and use. The lacquer panel with minor warping and some shrinkage cracks, most notably horizontally across the upper section; with some wear and tiny losses to the decoration. The lacquer cups with some chips and losses, revealing bare wood in areas, to the mouth rims, not noticed with the ormolu mounts placed on; the ormolu mounts around these cups are not secured into place; one of the ormolu fitments with a small split to the inner well; some of the rims of the mounts, wells and covers very slightly out of round. Two ormolu ink vessels 19th century replacements.
The porcelain with scattered small 'nibbles', nicks and chips, particularly to the edges. Some flowers lacking, some re-stuck. Under short wave UV it would appear only one or two flowers are of soft paste porcelain, the balance are hard paste.
