The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Overall with scuffs, marks and scratches consistent with age and use. The ormolu with some light tarnish and rubbing, as to be expected. Re-gilt. Some scattered examples of glue residue, such as to the base around the parrots; the undersides with glue residue on resting pads. The undersides with a few vacant holes. Some screws later. The central candle branch on one example with a split, but stable. On the other example, the lowermost tier of leaves slightly loose but stable. Some candle arms, scrolling branches and leaves slightly bent out of shape, and with some additional scattered areas of restoration.
One of the birds fixed to the stand, and the other loose. The porcelain flowers with scattered 'nibbles', tiny chips and small nicks to the edges; some have been re-attached.
The birds with some differentiation in coloring and figuring, though were certainly of the same age and likely mounted at the same time. Both of the birds with a spray to lower section, probably concealing some hairlaine cracks as there is no evidence of any breaks or larger cracks. The bird off the base with some resoration to the yellow wingtip and across the red tailfeathers. The one fixed to the base with some restoration to it's beak. The porcelain flowers with various small chips and 'nibbles' to edges. Under short wave ultraviolet light seven of the flowers appear to be soft paste porcelain. With some scattered repairs and some possibly replaced.
