The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Overall with light nicks, faint marks and scratches consistent with age and use. The giltwood with some scattered chips, small losses to carving and gilt surfaces revealing gesso, bole and bare wood in areas as to be expected with age. The gilding touched-up in areas. With some minor separation to the joins and a few small shrinkage cracks. one with a repaired left leg and a crack to the front right which might be an old break. With stamps to the understand of the front seat rails presently unidentified but possibly for Claude Chevigny, as mentioned. The upholstery with some wear and light staining.
