The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
In good decorative condition and ready to place. With the expected light nicks, marks, and faint scuffs as to be expected with age and use. The veneer with some areas of lifting, cracking and small losses with associated infill. Some sections of the veneer off and retained, and other areas with losses. With several scattered patches, primarily on hood. With traces of polychrome decoration. The ebonized decoration flaking and with small losses overall. With some smaller dings and nicks to extreme edges, primairly to base. Please note Christie's does not gurantee the working order of clock movements. The feet later. With one case key. This clock was inspected with restorer John Metcalfe who provided the following remarks: the movement dates from the early 18th century. The inscription "Acor" is a phonetic spelling of Acre, an area near Covent Garden in London.
The movement and clock face measures 11 1/2 in. high, 11 1/2 in. wide, 4 in. deep.
