The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

In good, decorative condition and ready to place. With the expected scattered light nicks, marks and scratches. Overall with some lifting, flaking and scattered small losses to the gilding revealing the gesso. Regilt. With some evidence of old woodworm, now inactive. With some seperation at the joins, particularly where the stretcher meets the chairlegs. The underside of each incised with Roman numerals. Some of the chairs reblocked and resupported. A few chair legs reinforced and with later nails. With some slight variation to the carving, as to be expected in a large set, but presents well overall. The upholstery very well maintained and with light wear and some rubbing.
