Lot Essay
The present chandelier is almost an exact copy of the model attributed to Andre Charles-Boulle (1642-1732), the King's Cabinetmaker, Chaser, Gilder, and Engraver, which was previously in the collection of the Mobilier national and now the Louvre (inv. OA5101).

This chandelier is in overall good decorative order. The ormolu with a bright tone having benefitted from a professional cleaning. There are some traces of rubbing to the high points, and minor areas of discolouration primarily to one arm. Some candlearms sit slightly higher than others, but all remain secure. Please note that this chandelier is not fitted for electricity.
