Condition report
A Christie's specialist may contact you to discuss this lot or to notify you if the condition changes prior to the sale.
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The ormolu with a bright tone overall, with some areas of tarnish, as to be expected. One rooster wiggles slightly atop the handle, but secure. A small area with traces of glue residue to the base. The lower edges of the base with some concave bending, but which does not effect the structural integrity of the base. The porcelain with some very light surface scratches and minor surface dirt, consistent with age and handling. One rectangular plaque to the base with a restored break. The circular base to the urn does not sit perfectly centred on the square plinth. The enamel chapter rings with some surface staining and light residue. The '10' with a small shallow chip to the lower right corner; the 'V' with chips to left corners, the 'VI' with some faint hairline cracks. With pendulum and key. Christie's recommends that the movement is cleaned and serviced to bring into full working condition. Please note Christie's do not guarantee the working condition, duration or timekeeping of clocks offered for sale. Ready to place as a decorative object.
