This desk is in presents very well overall. There are areas of lifting and small losse to the brass and tortoiseshell throughout, but which is largely only visible upon close examination. Some areas secured down with tape and could benefit from being professionally secured and/or restored. The ormolu with areas of rubbing to the high points and tarnish, as to be expected with age and handling. The leather writing surface with wear and with areas of loss to red tone on the right side consistent with something having been affixed to the surface. The drawer lining with wear and staining. There are traces of tape to secure areas of lifting. The legs with brackets to the top smaller 'C' scrolls apparently original to the contruction. The top of the base 'C'-scroll to each leg with a small patch repair. There is no key. Structurally secure.
