The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
This bureau plat presents very well overall, having recently benefitted from restoration.
The leather top with some wear and surface cracks, with several vertical areas of a dark staining, as to be expected with age.
The ormolu with a bright tone overall, consistent with having been lightly cleaned. There are minor areas of tarnish and rubbing to the high points, such as to the corners.
The surface with restorations to the lacquer and with areas of gilding and decoration refreshed.
