拍品专文

With much of the the wealth and prosperity of Rome based on farming, the four seasons were a perfect subject for mosaicists to celebrate the various phases of agricultural activities. The subject is also associated with the Bacchus, Roman god of wine, agriculture and fertility and the embodiment of autumn, part of the cycle of the four seasons.
