Condition report
A Christie's specialist may contact you to discuss this lot or to notify you if the condition changes prior to the sale.
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
In good overall condition. There are the inevitable minor nicks, marks and scratches consistent with age and use. Some flaked losses to the mecca decoration, revealing red bole, white gesso and exposed wood in localised areas, such as to the X-shaped stretcher. Sruface dirt and tarnish overall, consistent with age and use. The simulated marble top later, with minor surface scratches and wear. Some minor separations to joins. The underframe of top is later; the top is secured with nails. Some minor signs of old woodworm, now apaprently inactive. Highly decorative, structurally stable and ready to place.
