Surmounted overall by a parcel-gilt ovi-form vase finely decorated with a family in a wooded landscape to the front and a floral bouquet to the reverse, above a central dial with enamel-inset numerals, the twin barrel movement with strike-on-bell, numbered '4452' and with 'I. Marti et Cie.' cachet, flanked by putto suspending a floral garland and reclining on a base of architectural form inset with porcelain plaques decorated with scenes of a shepherd family, the underside of the feet stamped 'P', the reverse of an ormolu plate with ink inscription and 1879 date
