The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
This clock presents very well overall.
The clock modelled in two pieces with the join visible from the reverse.
There are a few miniscule chipped losses to the edges, such as to the flower petals, the tip of the cockeral's comb, and the proper right toes of the putto to the base.
The surmounted putti finial with a restored break to his proper left leg and a break to where he sits on the orb. There are a few areas of professional restoration, such as to the orb, a daisy, the right putto's proper right arm, and the left putto's proper left arm and hat, which are only visible upon close examination.
Christie's recommends that the movement is cleaned and serviced to bring into full working condition. Please note Christie's do not guarantee the working condition, duration or timekeeping of clocks offered for sale.
