The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The mother is restored through the waist and both arms with retouching, suggesting that her upper body has probably been broken off and restuck. The standing boy has also probably been broken off and restuck as there is evidence of a break with glue and retouching at the join between his left elbow and his mother's skirts. There is also restoration and retouching to trousers of his left leg and his right leg. Boy's right arm and hand restored from shoulder downwards and restoration to the front of his hat brim. The figure of the father has also probably been broken off and restuck (through the lower part of the tree-stump support and legs) as there is restoration all around the baseof the tree-stump support, to both the lower corners of his green coat, to his right knee and foot and his left shin and foot. Restoration and retouching to hat brim. The seated dog also shows traces of restoration and spray to lower body, back and tail.
