Cupid veiled

The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

This deftly carved marble figure presents well overall.
There are areas of surface marks, such as to Cupid's proper right left leg.
The surface with light a 'sparkle' consistent with having been cleaned, and with some pitting and associated infill in areas.
Cupid's proper right wing with a restored break and vertical crack.
His arrow with a restored break and with a loss to the tip.
The edges to the figure's base and to the pedestal with some chips.
The pedestal in three sections. The top with surface scratches and abrasions, consistent with age and handling. One corner of the pedestal base with a chipped loss and associated infill, approx. 1 x 1 in.
Structurally secure and ready to place.
