The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Overall in good condition with the usual marks, nicks, scratches, small losses and repairs as to be expected with age and use.
Regilt, the gilding in good order with the usual minor rubbing and chips, revealing the gesso and bole below.
The carved elements in good order, a few minor losses and repairs to the tips, as you would expect.
Each with some repaired shrinkage cracks across the foliate splat carving.
The drop in seats in Birch, stamped 3, 10 and II. One drop in seat is a replacement in spalled beech.
The yellow upholstery with some scattered areas of wear and soiling to the seats, but in usable order.
This set of four chairs, with interestingly carved design, are structurally stable and ready to be placed and used.
Each with a screw to the back of the splat where the upholstered cartouche is affixed.
1. Stamped 4. Back legs with spliced repairs. Front right-hand leg with a repaired V shaped break, now stable.
2. Stamped 6. Small 1 in. patch repair to the back seat rail, inside. The locator for the drop in seat is replaced. The tip of the back left hand leg is replaced, approx 1 in. Small chipped loss to the tip of the other back leg.
3. Stamped 8. Good condition.
4. Stamped 9. Good condition.
