There are the inevitable minor dents, marks, scratches and shrinkage cracks consistent with age and use.
As stated in the catalogue there are some minor losses to the carving especially to the foliate decoration and to the top, one wing of one phoenix is missing.
There are some restorations to the carving especially to the upper part of the both uprights and to the right c-scroll motif of the lower part.
There is a crack to the lower rail of the frame.
There are some cracks and losses to the gilding revealing the white gesso, the red bole and the bare wood underneath.
As stated in the catalogue the glass panels have been replaced. There are some foxing areas especially to the lower part due to the oxidation of the mercury. There are some minor chips and losses to the glass especially to the left side of the lower part.
