The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Marks clear: the crown have been scratched probably at the time of the French Revolution. Arms on base probably erased. Trace of the David-Weill inventory number to both undersides.
Scratching and pitting consistent with age and use; wear on high points.
One with bruise to base causing the candlestick to rock very slightly. Two solder spots to underside not visible on the outside. Split at junction of stem to base and junction of stem to socket. Nicks to rims.
The other with bruise to foot-rim which does not affect stability; small rip in the foot-rim. Nicks to rims.
