The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The catalogue illustrations are accurate.
Good overall condition.
There are the inevitable dents, marks, scratches and rubbing consistent with age and use.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of these pieces acquired after their initial manufacture.
One vase:
- There is an area of restoration around the lower junction of an handle with the body.
- There is a knock to the protruding ring between the body and the foot, as well as a vertical split.
One cover:
- There is a knock/loss of enamel near the rim.
The other vase:
- There is a loss of enamel along the rim of the protruding ring between the body and the foot.
The other cover:
They are in good overall condition.
Both vases and covers:
- There are some minute nicks to the edges and rims as can be expected.
- There is some pitting to the enamels, some of which being filled-in.
- There is some wear to the gilding.
- General age-related surface wear and scratches as can be expected.
