Le décor de cette tabatière n’est pas sans rappelé les décors de ‘Prunkuhr’, pendules architecturales fabriquées à la fin du XVIIe siècle à Augsbourg. Ces pendules figuraient souvent des allégories des Arts Libéraux mêlées à des scènes mythologiques. Ainsi la plaque en lapis peut-elle être rapprochée de celle qui figurait sur la pendule par Johann Valentin Gevers datée 1709-1712 dans la Collection Rothschild, Exceptional, Paris, 21 novembre 2023, lot 13.
