The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The plain one: marks clear: charge illegible. Engraving clear.
Some light scratching and pitting. Small dent on the bombé part of the body; bruising to the foot-rim which does not affect stability; small nicks to the rims.
The engraved beaker with legible date-letter, décharge and later control mark, maker’s mark illegible; engraving clear. Some light scratching on plain surfaces; bruising to the foot-rim which affects very slightly stability of the beaker; nicks to the rim.
The 1775 beaker with gadroons: marks clear; town mark illegible. With déchargee for old items 1780-1782; And with later control mark (swan); with some light scratching and bruising consistent with age and use; nicks to the rims; two small flat dents on the gadroons on body; some excess soldering visible at junction of foot to body.
