A gouache on paper, c.1830, depicts the Interior of a Cantonese workshop with craftsmen making bamoo furniture (Collection of Benjamin Ginsberg), illustrated in Carl L. Crossman, The Decorative Arts of the China Trade, Woodbridge, 1991, p. 256, pl. 138. A related example is illustrated in G. Walkling, Antique Bamboo Furniture, London, 1979, p. 33, fig. 21 (an example from Ovedskloster, Sweden) and another is in the Chinese Room at Claydon House, Bucks, designed in 1769 by Luke Lightfoot and arguably the most elaborate Chinoiserie interior surviving in Britain. A near-identical table was sold from Collection du Prince et de la Princess Sadruddin Aga Khan, Christie's, Paris, 1 October 2020, lot 153 (13,750 euros including premium).
