Condition report
A Christie's specialist may contact you to discuss this lot or to notify you if the condition changes prior to the sale.
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
There are the inevitable minor dents marks and scratches and shrinkage cracks due to age and use. Overall in good clean condition, structurally secure and ready to use. Repairs to shrinkage splits in the chest top and the flap. The feet and subframe probably restored in the late 18th or early 19th century and the feet probably later veneered. Minor old repairs to veneers and mouldings, eg to the back right foot (veneer part replaced). The metalwork apparently original with the exception of four replaced rings to lower drawers (however retaining original circular backplates).
