Vase-shaped on plain square plinth, the bombé body and spreading foot chased with flutes, the reeded side handles with acanthus leaf terminals, with domed cover and berried acanthus bud finial, the body engraved with a coat-of-arms, the cover with a crest, marked in cover and on bowl

The arms are those of Waddington quartering Ferrand presumably for Major General Charles Waddington (1795-1858), He married Anne Rebecca, daughter of John Pinchard in 1822.
