The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The disc finial to cover and corresponding semi-circular boss to interior of lid are probably later and associated. A gap between top of lid and disc. The lid with wear to gilding, indentations and small creases to the border. Minor splitting evident to interior underneath thumbpiece. The hinge slightly loose and misshapen with one of the two vertical disc elements loose. Interior gilding generally good, some surface dirt to recesses. A repair at join of handle and body. The handle with some wear to gilt. The body rim with slight indentations. Overall with surface bruises and abrasions. The foot rim misshapen and with splits at join of body.
