The C couronné poinçoin was a tax mark employed on any alloy containing copper between March 1745 and February 1749.

A similar commode by François Mondon (1694-1770) was delivered to the garde-meuble by Antoine-Robert Gaudreus (1682-1746), Sotheby's Monaco, 11 December 1999, lot 62. The commode was delivered alongside two others of similar model, to furnish the appartments of Louis XV's daughters, at the Château de Marly, for which one of the two is now housed in the Museum of Marly, the other in a private collection.
François Mondon's commode comparatively reflects the same features from the overall shape, the kingwood parquetry to the drawers and sides, the pierced scrolled ormolu handles and apron.
