The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Overall in very good decorative order. Some slight rubbing and wear to the gilding and enamels throughout, and some slight surface scratches. All to be expected from use.
The saucer painted with the blue cornflower some small 'nibbling' chips to the footrim, some of which are glazed and therefore from the time of manufacture. The other saucer painted with the pink rose has slightly mis-fired in the kiln to give a slightly more matte surface to the glaze, and with some heavier wear to the gilt rim at 6 o'clock and 6:30 o'clock.
Both cups with some speckled firing marks throughout. One example with a small 0.3 cm area of flaking to the clear glaze, and a pinhead sized gilded nick to the rim, the other example with two minute chips to the underside edge of the rim near the handle, and heavier firing marks to the exterior.
