The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Both screens are in overall good condition, with the inevitable scratches, creases, surface marks and wear consistent with age and use. Both later re-mounted with restored hinges.
There are some creases to the painted surface, notably to the left side of one of them, and the fourth one of the same screen. There are scuffs and paint losses to the folding corners of each panel, and small aread of flaked off paint overall.
The silk border is a little faded and tatty in some parts, mainly the thin silk strip below it which has some stains and is torn in some parts. The black framing to both screens has some bruises and knocks.
