Each with rectangular padded back and seat covered in associated 18th century gros and petit-point needlework depicting flowers, birds and a woman and child in late 17th-century dress, the plain seat-rail above 'broken' cabriole legs inlaid with arabesque strapwork and rosettes, on hoof feet
40 in. (102 cm.) high; 12. 1/4 in. (54 cm.) wide; 23. 1/2 in. (59.5 cm.) deep
Provenance
Commissioned by Sir John Trevor (c.1637-1717) for Trevor House, later Powis House, Knightsbridge and probably removed to Brynkinalt, Denbighshire in the mid-18th century.
Thence by descent at Brynkinalt.
