The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

This large and rare coffre, most probably originally intended as a case for silver or porcelain tureens, is invery good overall condition.
There are the inevitable minor nicks, marks and scratches consistent with age and use.
Some minor scuffing and wear to the red leather which has slightly discoloured into a browner-hue. Some rubbing to the gilt tooled leather decoration which retains an overall crisp appearance.
The green velvet lined interior with minor marks from use but in perfectly smart order.
Previously fitted with lateral chains holding the hinged cover to the main body.
Some rubbing to the highpoints of the gilt-metal mounts.
Highly decorative and ready to place.
