The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
This coffee-pot presents well overall.
The silver foliate mounts applied to three angles on the handle disguising breaks to the stoneware.
A further break to the bottom of the handle that is undisguised, with some traces of old infill.
The tip of the spout also broken and restored, with a silver mount to again disguise this.
The waisted band to the coffee-pot with a very small 0.4 cm chip.
A very small firing crack where the spout meets the support, though this has been present since the time of manufacture.
Some very minor flat chips to the underside of the footrim, though these may also have been present since the time of manufacture.
A section of the flange to the cover has been broken and restored with some associated overpainting, and some very minor nibbling chips to this restoration. This overpainting is cracking slightly.
The 19th century silver mounts tarnished.
