The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
1. The hinged cover with some hairline cracks and traces of old glue repairs. Small chip to one corner of the thumbpiece. Small chip the edge of handle. Base of handle also with infilling and an old repair. Two very small chips to the upper rim of the body. The foot rim with two small chips, one sanded down. Minor abrasions overall.
2. Possible trace of hallmark under foot rim as well as an erased inscription: possible 6 lt 50?. Foot mount slightly loose. Small chip and small section missing near the lower terminal of the handle: visible inside. Small nicks to the stone moulded borders. The rim of the cover a little misshapen and with some bruises. Small solder repair at junction of thumbpiece to the cover: inside of the cover regilded. The stone of a lighter tone than the first tankard.
