A LARGE IMARI JAR
LATE KANGXI PERIOD, CIRCA 1720
The heavily-potted baluster jar has a short neck and is boldly decorated in underglaze blue, iron-red, and gilt with a continuous lush landscape scene with long-tailed birds and mythical beasts all between an elaborate ruyi band at the shoulder and a wide lappet border near the base.
