The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record the changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
Both have expected nicks to the extremities, small areas of polishing, small natural inclusions in the stone and light surface wear and scratches.
White and russet belt hook:
- There is a polished chip to the end of the bifurcated tail of the chilong and a related area of polishing to the end of the hook
- The button has been polished
- The front legs of the chilong have been polished
Green belt hook:
- The end of the hook has been reduced and polished
- The tail of the chilong has been polished and recarved
- The edges of the button have been polished
- There is a small chip to the back of the chilong's left hind leg
- There is a small area of polishing to the stone between the chilong's front left leg and the body
