The title of Zhou Mingde's painting Empyrean Heaven 19.07 is a reference to the multiplicity of dimensions as expounded in ancient metaphysics. The artist uses nine different colours to demarcate the different realms of heaven. They are organised scientifically from cool tones to warm tones. It is apparent that in this work, the artist is inspired by Kandinsky's use of colours — he uses a particular kind of mineral paint to depict the same material from which the pigment was made. By using a multitude of colours and crafting delicate details of the rocks, the artist attempts to evoke feelings that are hidden within — Painted on golden paper, the joyous emotions of this colourful composition resonate deeply with the viewers.

The work is unframed. Four slim lines of unopened double-sided tape are along the edges, which was intentionally prepared by the artist for future mounting. It is in our opinion that the work is in good condition.
