The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Cette œuvre est vendue encadrée. Gouache, aquarelle et graphite sur papiers vergés joints marouflés sur carton et monté sur un châssis. Du papier de bordage le long des bords. Le bord gauche de la feuille de papier de droit est irrégulier. Des déchirures réparées principalement sur les bords (la déchirure verticale la plus longue sur la partie gauche de la composition mesurant approximativement 36 cm. de haut). Insolation de la feuille, salissure de surface et tâches d’eau par endroits. De rares pliures aplaties horizontales et verticales par endroits (une pliure aplaties verticale traversant la composition sur la partie gauche de celle-ci et une pliure aplaties horizontales traversant le feuille de droite). Le carton est incurvé sur la partie droite de la composition. Un petit manque de peinture au centre du bord droit. Examiné à la lampe à ultra-violets : aucune retouche apparente. Les pigments et les empâtements sont très vifs et frais sur l’ensemble de la composition.

This work is sold framed. Gouache, watercolour and graphite on joined wove paper laid down on board mounted on a stretcher. Some framing paper along the edges. The left edge of the right sheet of paper is uneven. Some repaired tears mainly at the edges (the longest vertical one on the left side of the composition approx. 36 cm. high). Some light-staining, surface dirt and water stains in places. A few horizontal and vertical flattened folds in places (one vertical running across the composition in the left part of the composition and one horizontal running through the right sheet). The board is curved on the right part of the composition. A small paint loss towards the centre of the right edge. Examined under ultra-violet light : no apparent retouching. The pigments and impasto are very strong and fresh throughout
