Contemporary Edition
Online 11 - 25 September

Contemporary Edition online offers a diverse array of prints and multiples by the greats of Post-War and Contemporary Art. The sale includes sought after screenprints by Bridget Riley, Carmen Herrera, Harland Miller and Chuck Close, as well as limited edition multiples by Jeff Koons and Alison Wilding, and a unique multiple by John Chamberlain.

There is a strong group of hand-coloured prints from the estate of the master printmaker Jack Shirreff (lots 352-375) comprising etchings by Howard Hodgkin and Craigie Aitchison, and 3D lithographic multiples by Patrick Hughes.

The sale is led by Simon Patterson’s seminal work The Great Bear (lot 340), which is based on the iconic map of the London Underground, with the station names replaced with the names of historical figures, philosophers, actors, footballers and musicians.
