Issued in an edition of 11 impressions only, Via Condotti is one of the great rarities in Richard Estes's printed oeuvre. The artist at first rejected the print for publication, but when Michael Domberger visited him shortly after in his New York apartment, he saw a proof of the print hanging in the artist's hallway. Seeing that Estes clearly approved of the work, he convinced him to publish the small number of existing impressions.
