The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

In addition to or in elaboration of the catalogue entry:
- the full sheets, with deckle edges on all sides, hinged to the support in places at the edges on the reverse (with associated soft cockling)
- (III) occasional pale pinpoint foxmarks at the right margin and pale staining at upper right
- (VIII) occasional pinpoint foxmarks along the margins, a pale stain at the upper margin and occasional creasing, mainly at the four corners and at upper right
