Lot Essay

The portfolio includes twelve prints by Werner Berges, Heiner Blum, Hellmut Bruch, Jochen Gerz, Reinhold A. Goelles, Alfonso Hüppi, Susi Kramer, Anton Stankowski, Gabriele Straub, Ulrich Wagner, Raymond E. Waydelich and Shizuko Yoshikawa. It was produced in collaboration with the German TV broadcasting companies 3SAT and SÜDWWESTFUNK and was based on a commision of artworks to be displayed in the viewer's homes on their TV-screen by tele-text. As such, it is a fascinating document of a technique that has all but vanished from our lives.
