Carved red lacquer with Hanshan (Kanzan) reading a scroll and Shide (Jittoku) holding a pail among pine trees surrounded by rockwork and clouds, the reverse in reticulated soft metals, chased and engraved with a hawk and a butterfly before windswept foliage, bordered with a key-fret (rinzu) pattern
